The future of Zidane at Real Madrid is up in the air with reports claiming that the Frenchman has already told his players that he won’t be with them next season. The Real Madrid boss denied the news in his pre-match press conference before last weekend’s 1-0 away win over Athletic Bilbao. The former Real Madrid, Bordeaux and Juventus playmaker denied informing his players that he would leave the club in the summer before adding that he can’t say such with the team in the middle of a title race.

Zidane is a big fan of his compatriot Mbappeand it has been suggested that his exit could end the club’s pursuit of the player but that claim has now been dismissed by the aforementioned report.

Real Madrid are battling financial problems at the moment and it remains to be seen where the club will raise the huge money required to pull off a marquee signing in the form of KylianMbappe or ErlingHaaland.

French World Cup winner Mbappe has scored over 40 goals at PSG this season and he earns around €25m on a yearly basis at the club as per his contract that ends in the next one year. PSG have offered him fresh terms that will see him earn close to the €36m yearly new deal given to fellow PSG superstar Neymar earlier this month.

Another disadvantage for Real Madrid in the chase for Mbappe is his salary with the Spanish club not willing to move beyond the €25m per year salary that he’s on at PSG at the moment.
