MADRID MOVE OFF FOR POGBA – REPORT

Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid have reportedly pulled out of a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. This is according to the report from Spanish newspaper Marca which claimed that Real Madrid are no longer interested in signing Pogba due to the lack of conviction that the Frenchman will fit into their squad.

Pogba has consistently been linked with a move to Real Madrid dating back to when French football legend Zinedine Zidane was the manager. Zidane is said to be a big fan of the Manchester United midfielder, but he’s no longer the Real Madrid manager after he resigned from the job at the end of last season. Zidane cited a lack of support from the Real Madrid board as the reason for his resignation andhe was swiftly replaced by Carlo Ancelotti for his second spell at the club. Ironically, Zidane was the assistant to Ancelotti when he won the La Decima in the Champions League seven years ago.

MBAPPE WANTS MADRID MOVE

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker KylianMbappe wants to join Spanish champions Real Madrid this summer whether or not current manager Zinedine Zidane stays on beyond this season. According to the publication from Spanish media outlet Football Espana, Mbappe is coming to Real Madrid with or without Zidane.

The future of Zidane at Real Madrid is up in the air with reports claiming that the Frenchman has already told his players that he won’t be with them next season. The Real Madrid boss denied the news in his pre-match press conference before last weekend’s 1-0 away win over Athletic Bilbao. The former Real Madrid, Bordeaux and Juventus playmaker denied informing his players that he would leave the club in the summer before adding that he can’t say such with the team in the middle of a title race.

Real Madrid Realizes a Cheaper Pogba Alternative

Real Madrid seems to have decided on Donny van de Beek, the Ajax midfielder as the cheaper alternative to Paul Pogba, the star player of Manchester United. Zinedine Zidane, the Madrid coach is looking forward to adding a creative side as a part of his summer rebuild. This has seen the La Liga club to spend on players like Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard, and Ferland Mendy.

Even though this France international tops the wish list of Zidane, Los Blancos have failed to agree on a sum with this club of the Premier League. Manchester United is not ready to allow the twenty-six-year-old who has also been associated with a comeback at Juventus to leave United this summer and is only ready to sell him at £150 million. Real Madrid is not ready to agree to the asking price of Manchester United. There have been reports that the club is recognizing Van de Beek, the Ajax star if they fail to land Paul Pogba. The club has seen his abilities in the last season and that too, first hand as he assisted Eredivisie club to defeat Spanish giants in Champions League’s last 16.

Zinedine Zidane Reacts To Real Madrid’s Win Over Bayern Munich

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is pleased with how Los Blancos coped with Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final first leg. The German champions started the game in a relatively brisk fashion and they bagged the opening goal after Keylor Navas made an indecision over Joshua Kimmich’s shot. Thereafter, Los Blancos were the ones who were more clinical in front of goal and Marcelo and Marcos Asensio scored in either half to secure a 2-1 triumph on the road.

Speaking after the game, Zidane was satisfied with the efforts of his players on the night, he said: “We’re very satisfied with the result, but we had a lot of problems in the first few minutes trying to take control of the game. The tie is far from over, it’s more than possible that Bayern could win in the Bernabeu, but we are very happy to have won 2-1 in Munich.” (more…)

Zinedine Zidane open to discussing fresh Ronaldo contract

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to focus on Saturday’s El Clasico versus Barcelona as contract discussions could be delayed until after the winter break. The Portugal international is deemed to be unsettled at the European champions after overseeing the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar earn bumper deals at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.

Speaking in the lead-up to the Barca clash, Zidane stressed that Ronaldo is fully fit for the encounter, and he expects the Portugal international to maintain his focus on the fixture. Meanwhile, the Frenchman added that the 32-year-old deserves every bit of respect from the Bernabeu giants, and he is prepared to discuss a suitable extension after the turn of the year.
