Enrique wants more than just the treble

In the world of football, winning the treble is an accomplishment that only a few clubs have been able to do as it’s something which is not easy to accomplish.

The Spanish side Barcelona has already achieved this feat on 2 occasions. The first time that Barcelona reached this feat was way back during the 2008-09 season but they repeated this accomplishment in the previous season in the 2014-15 season.

Even though this was a huge achievement, Luis Enrique is aiming to surpass what he did during his first year in charge of Barcelona.

During the first season that Luis Enrique was in charge of the Spanish club, he won the treble but he wants to do even more in the next few years.

In a press conference, Luis Enrique announced some of the things that he wants to reach with Barcelona as he told reporters: “The treble is now in the past, now we are interested in six trophies. Barcelona won La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the Champions League last season. It was the club’s second ever treble trophy-winning season.”

“Second seasons are usually better. There is the base work and I am convinced that the team can improve in several aspects. The motivation is there to be better than our opponents via continual development, if you stand still you get burned.”

The attacking partnership which is formed by Neymar, Luis Suarez and Messi is considered to be one of the best offensive combinations in Europe – you can almost guarantee that Barca will be favourites on the StanJames live bets index to be the next team to score – no matter what the score is or who they are playing?!

Not many changes are going to be made in the team of Luis Enrique as he already has a star studded squad with some of the best players in the world in each position and Enrique isn’t in need of splashing out a lot of cash in the summer transfer window, even if Enrique did sign a player in the summer that new acquisition can’t play in an official match for Barcelona due to the transfer ban of the club which extends until January of 2016.

REAL CAN WIN IT

Real Madrid has reached the semifinals of the Champions League after the Spanish titans managed to survive Borussia Dortmund’s series of attacks during their 2nd leg match which was played at the Signal-Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared on the sidelines of the squad as he was still recovering from an injury he had suffered a few days ago and even though the absence of the Portuguese midfielder was being felt by Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti and his players barely managed on leaving the pitch with an aggregate score of 3-2 which is just enough for them to advance into the semifinals of the European tournament.

Marco Reus scored the opening goal of the match as he took advantage of a mistake from Pepe who instead of clearing the ball away from danger, the defender headed it back to Reus who only had Iker Casillas left to beat and slipped it into the net.

13 minutes later and Marco Reus netted his 2nd and last goal of the entire match as he took full advantage of a rebound as he slammed it past the Real Madrid defender as they tried to stop the ball from entering the net but failed on doing so.

The match continued rolling on but Real Madrid did not concede any further goals which unfortunately for Borussia Dortmund, they needed at least 1 more goal in order to stay in fighting in the Champions League.

The players of Jurgen Klopp went upfront for the last few minutes of the match as they tried pressuring Real Madrid hoping to steal the ball and somehow find a way to score the crucial last goal but it never arrived as Real Madrid advanced into the semifinals stages and knocked out Borussia Dortmund

BENZEMA SHOOTS HIGH

Karim Benzema has emerged as one of the top strikers in Spanish football once again after managing to score 12 goals in just 14 matches since January. Even more important for Real Madrid is the fact that most of these goals have come at an important stage against top opposition.

Carlo Ancelotti has been given a lot of credit for the way he has helped Benzema rediscover his form, but the Italian has said that credit should go towards his assistant manager and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman has been a major part of Benzema’s recovery according to Ancelotti.

The addition of Gareth Bale to the squad was expected to diminish the role of Benzema. He was spoken of as a potential Arsenal target during the summer transfer window. However, the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli prevented the club from selling the Frenchman as well. The decision looked like being wrong during the first half of the season, as Benzema struggled for both form and consistency. However, his return to form has now coincided with Real Madrid going through a great spell during which time they have opened a four-point advantage in the league.

Madrid could go one step closer towards winning the title when they take on Barcelona in the league next week.

“I think Zidane’s done fantastic work, especially with Karim. He’s communicated a lot with the players and implemented a specific job with all attackers. His work is very important. I am very pleased with Zidane. He has a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of knowledge. He understands what is happening on the pitch during a match. I asked him several times if he wanted to play but he told me no! He can still play without problem!” said Ancelotti, whose team are undefeated in the last few months.

REAL STAY TOP

Real Madrid managed to preserve their lead at the top of the table after a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid, but they had to wait until the final 10 minutes in order to secure this equaliser.

Real Madrid came into the match after having lost the previous league encounter between the two teams at the Santiago Bernabeu. Hence, there was intense pressure from manager Carlo Ancelotti to avoid a double, which would have been the first time it has happened after a long period. Real, however, were confident ahead of the encounter since they recently beat their arch rivals 5-0 on aggregate in the Copa del Rey.

They also began the match extremely well thanks to an early goal from striker Karim Benzema. He scored after just two minutes on the clock after Atletico had failed to clear a corner. However, two quick goals from Koke and Gabi made the game look like heading for another defeat for Real Madrid. This would have been the first time since 1951 that they had been defeated twice by their arch rivals in a single season. As Real pushed on in search of an equaliser, Atletico looked dangerous on the counter-attack especially with striker Diego Costa in great form.

However, Ronaldo equalised with only a few minutes remaining and Ancelotti praised his team after the match. “We drew a game that we were losing. The response was good and overall we can be satisfied because Atletico are a good team, particularly at home. We’re top and that’s good. A point is a point. It was a difficult match. We tried to play but it wasn’t easy because Atletico played a very rough game. They tried to impose a violent game. We don’t play like that,” said Ancelotti to the club’s official site after the match.

CASILLAS YET TO PLAY

Iker Casillas has not played a single match in this season as Diego Lopez seems to be the main star for Carlo Ancelotti but despite not playing an important role for Real Madrid in this season, according to the head coach Casillas will wage a war to try and keep hold of the Spanish goalkeeper.

“It was not an easy decision; I have two goalkeepers of high quality, the best two in the world. I started with Diego as my No.1, but then did not consider that Casillas would not play. Rotating goalkeepers is not the most desirable thing, it is not easy, but they have understood.

“I’ll fight the same way I did for Xabi. This team has key players representing the club and I will wage war for Casillas to finish his career here, in Madrid.” Ancelotti told the Spanish media.

So far in this season Real Madrid has been finding themselves mostly behind the leadership of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as those are the top 2 teams fighting for the Spanish title and Carlo Ancelotti went out to talk about why they are falling behind those clubs as he stated that Real Madrid is undergoing a ‘’new philisophy’’.

“We’re not doing as well because we changed philosophy this season,” he added. “Last year’s Madrid played more on the counterattack; we want to play with more possession. It takes time to adjust. It will take a little longer to catch Barcelona and Atletico. I am aware that some people’s patience is limited, which is normal because Madrid have to try to win every year’’.

The leaders of the Spanish League, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid faced each other in their latest league fixture and the final outcome was a goalless draw which gives Real Madrid a chance to cut the gap between them and maintain the pressure at the top of the league.

David Villa is the best striker in Spain

Alexis Ruano, the central defender of Getafe, said that David Villa is the best striker in Spain today. Alesi, born in Malaga, would come up against the Spain international when Getafe meets Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon this Saturday. His team is fully aware of David’s importance in Diego Simeone’s team.

While speaking to reporters, Alexis Ruano told that for him, David Villa is the best forward in La Liga. Even though one does not listen about Villa as Diego Costa, yet he does a whole lot of work. He is quite good in getting away from defenders. This helps them a lot.

Diego Costa is in doubt for this week’s match, but Alexis said that this does not concern him. He always relishes playing against the best and having Villa on the field is great. If he does not play; that would be better for Getafe. But Atletico is a great team and it really does not matter who plays.

Alexis Ruano told that the past few times they have played at Calderon, they have had more ball possession, and still they failed to score at vital moments. This year, they would go out with the mind set of making it tough for them. The team is hopeful of getting a positive result. Still, they have to keep a close eye on them on the counter attack. If Getafe has to win, they have to stay focused for the ninety minutes.

ALL CHANGE AT REAL

After the departure of José Mourinho in the summer, Real Madrid were expected to return to the passing style of football, which is the club is known for in its illustrious history.

The arrival of new manager Carlo Ancelotti was expected to aid in this regard. Ancelotti also noted this aspect when he took over. He said that he wanted his Real Madrid team to play from the back, but he has now said that he does not want to copy Barcelona. The passing style of Barcelona involves keeping the ball for long periods of time in the search of the perfect goal.

Ancelotti, though, tends to think otherwise when it comes to football tactics because he feels that there should be some type of counter-attacking football in the play as well. He has said that his players are already champions, and then do not need to string 30 passes in order to find the goal. Real Madrid have one of the most attacking line-up in the world right now. The presence of players like Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Isco make them very potent when it comes to attack. Real Madrid will be taking on Getafe at home in the next match.

They will be looking to bring an end to the Barcelona domination in the league.

“I’m Italian, and playing on the counter is a tactic I like. My players are champions. It should be automatic for them to score goals. They don’t need 30 passes to find a solution. You have to be ready to find that chance with three. I don’t doubt the quality of my players, but if they manage to score with three passes instead of 30, I can’t complain”, said Ancelotti ahead of the weekend’s match. Real Madrid are already trailing Barcelona by two points.

ANCELOTTI BACKS HIGUAIN

New Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was happy to see striker Gonzalo Higuain score in the 6-0 win over Bournemouth in a friendly match. After the encounter, he said that he is extremely happy to have won his first match as the Real Madrid manager.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Higuain, but Ancelotti dismissed the reports by saying that he wants the striker to stay at the club. Higuain has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Napoli in the last few months. The Argentine ace has been at the club since 2006, but he is reportedly unhappy at the importance given to him.

Arsenal were thought to have agreed a £ 22 million deal with Real Madrid for his services, but the late entry of Chelsea and Napoli has increased his transfer value to around £ 30 million. Napoli are looking to replace Edinson Cavani and they are extremely cash rich following the £ 55 million transfer of the Uruguay star to PSG. Reports have suggested that Napoli have agreed a £ 32 million deal with Real Madrid, but Ancelotti has dismissed such suggestions. He has said that the striker could prove to be a very important player for the club over the course of the season.

“Not true, I don’t have any news about this. I think that now we have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madrid player. He is a fantastic player and a fantastic striker who took one minute to score tonight. I spoke to him this week. He is a Real Madrid player and until we have news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I would like him to stay with us. He is very important to us,” said the former PSG and Chelsea manager.

ANCELOTTI NEXT?

Paris St Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he wants to leave the club to join Real Madrid. It is understood that Ancelotti has been made the firm favourite to take over at the Santiago Bernabeu once the club part ways with manager José Mourinho.

Ancelotti has been a manager in three different countries over the last decade. He has managed to win league titles in these three countries, while also lifting the Champions League trophy with AC Milan. However, his request to leave PSG has been denied by the owners of the French club.

Ancelotti recently led the club to their first league title for almost 2 decades, while they almost made it into the Champions League semifinals as well. The 53-year-old has said that he is still waiting for an answer from the owners. In a recent interview, the president of the club has said that Ancelotti still has one year left on his contract. Further, they also willing to keep him for much longer than his current contract. It is expected that they will offer a new deal in the hope of persuading Ancelotti to stay. Several PSG players have also said that they want their manager to stay at the club.

“I’ve asked to leave and I am waiting for their answer. There are possibilities. Real Madrid is one. But I have a contract here. We are going to wait for a response from the club, who are going to take a few days to decide,” said Ancelotti. “It is his problem; it is not our problem. We have offered him another year more on his contract as well as the one he has. When you have a contract, everyone is normally obliged to honour that,” said the club president. Sporting director Leonardo has also expressed his wish to keep Ancelotti.

Betting on Real: some tips

Sports betting is one of the forms of gambling that is thriving in the modern era, alongside playing at online casino websites, but it can be a difficult form of gambling for non-sports fans to grasp.

There is sometimes a perception that betting on sports is easier than playing casino games like poker and blackjack, but in fact there is just as much information that has to be taken on board before you can hope to do it successfully. Thus the first tip would be to skip sports betting unless you either have some interest in one or more sports, or are prepared to do serious research into something you have no interest in.

To bet successfully on sports you not only have to visit different sportsbook sites to find out the best odds available, you also have to look at the current form of the team or player you are betting on; any injuries or off-field problems that could affect their chances and their past record against the relevant opponents. If you are willing to do this, the next tip would be to look at your own finances and budget based on what you can afford to lose, before placing a bet, as that way you will avoid wagering more than you can afford.

If you are only a casual fan of sports and this all sounds like a bit too much hard work, you may prefer to mix sports and gambling in a slightly less demanding and risky way.

There are a great many of these games available, based around sports like football, tennis, motor racing and other popular sports, and they are easier and cheaper to participate in than either sports betting or other types of casino games. Many of them can be played with little more than pennies, and they offer a very good chance of winning something, which should make them appealing to those who have some interest in sports, but not enough to go bet on actual sporting matches.
